Upon reading the humble petition of
Richard Manning< no role >
setting forth
That he being Tenant in part of the premisses in Holborn that were
given to this Hospital by Mr. Lock was indebted to the Governors at
Midsumer last in £88. for which the Steward made a DistressThat
thereupon the Petr. being oblidged to summon his Creditors together
one of them forgave your Petn. her whole Debt and the rest agreed to
accept of ten shillings in the pound for their Debts in case the
Governors would also accept of such Composition and the Major part
of them have accordingly executed an Instrument whereby they have
released to the Petr. the one half of their respective Debts due from
him And the Petr. is ready to pay the one half of the said Debt due unto
the Hospital & is not in Condition to make full payment thereof
And praying the Governors will be pleased to accept of such payment
in full satisfaction of the said Debt due to them This Court having
duly weighted and considered of the said
Reportdoth reject the same.
