Upon reading a Report from the Comittee of Bridwell Hospital bearing date the
18th. day of November instant under the hands of Edward Holloway< no role > Esqr . Trear
Dr . Richard Rawlinson< no role > , John Lock< no role > Esqr . Mr. Thomas Morris< no role > Mr. Nathaniel Nash< no role >
and Mr. John Purcas< no role > in the words and figures following Vizt.Mr.
Jonathan Grainger< no role > of the parish of Alhallows Barking London Cooper
proposed to take of the Governors of this Hospital a Lease for Eleven years
to comence from Christmass next of the Vaults under Fowkes Court in
Tower Street at the Yearly Rent of £50. payable quarterly clear of all
Taxes or Deductions whatsoever With a proviso that at the End of the
first Seven years the Lease to be void for the remainder of the Term if Notice
for that purpose be given in Writing on either side Six Calendar Months
before the Expiration of the first Seven yearsAnd he will taken them in
the Condition they are now in and put them into good repair by cleaning
and gravelling themThe Committee are of Opinion to accept the
proposals of the said Jonathan Grainger< no role > whereupon he gave Two Guineas
to the Poors boxAll which nevertheless is submitted to the Judgment
of the CourtAnd it is Ordered that this Opinion be reported to the
next CourtThis Court having duly weighed and considered of
the said Report doth confirm the same and Order that a Lease be
made to the said Jonathan Grainger< no role > accordingly.

The Clerk acquainted this Court that in the Cause concerning the Title of
Edward Barkham< no role > Esqr . deced to the Lands in Lincolnshire which by his will he
devised to the Governors of Bethlem Hospital for the benefit of the Incurables
The Right Honble The Lord Chancellor on Tuesday the 10th. instant
pronounced his Decree in favor of the Governors.

Mr. Thomas Watson< no role > Hosier on Ludgate hill being called in Acquainted this
Court That since the last Court hold here Vizt. the 22d. of October last one
Martha Tyson< no role > was committed to the Custody of the Porter of this Hospital by
the Warrant of Mr. Alderman Calvertfor being a loose disorderly person
and Common Night Walker taken up the (then) last night for being concealed
in the said Mr. Watsons house with his Servant and having no visible way of
livingAnd that on the 7th. of this instant November John Elliot< no role > the
Portersman carried a Copy of the said Warrant and upon his Suggestions to
the Lord Mayor procured His Lordships discharge for the said Martha Tyson
who was accordingly discharged without the Knowledge of Mr. Watson
Whereupon Mr. President acquainted the Court that one William Smith< no role >
who was committed by Warrant of the late Lord Mayor the 27th. of July
last for picking Mr. Richard Glover< no role > s pocket of a Handkercheif Escaped
the day before last Bartholomew fair and was not retaken but returned
voluntarily the day after the fairAnd Mr. President further
acquainted the Court that by his Warrant of the 11th. of September last
he comitted one Eleanor Green< no role > for being a loose disorderly person and
Comon night walker taken up in the Streets that morning at one o'Clock
drunk and that she escaped and was not retakenWhereupon
It is Ordered That it be referred to the next Court to consider of the
Suspension of John Elliot< no role > the Portersman.
