Upon reading the Minutes taken at a Meeting the 4th. February 1741/2 of a Comittee
of Bethlem Hospital & of a Comittee of St. George's Hospital for considering the wch
of Sr . John James< no role > Barrt . giving moneys to the said Hospitals as follows Vizt
It is the Opinion of the said Committees that the Hospitalls be at a Joint
Expence in prosecuting for the said LagacysThat an Information in the
name of the Attorney General be drawn for that purpose and that Mr. Taylor
be desired to draw the sameThis Court doth agree to the some.

Upon reading a Report from the Grand Comittee of Bethlem Hospital bearing dat
the 10th. of February instant under the hands of Edward Holloway< no role > Esqr . Treasurer
Mr. Thomas Pestell< no role > . Mr. Gilbert Malcher< no role > . Mr. Nathaniel Macascree< no role > Mr. Deputy
Wiley, Mr. Deputy Smart & James Brackley< no role > Esqr . in the words and figures following
ViztIn Pursuance of an Order of Court of the 9th. September last whereby it
was referred back to this Comittee to consider of making an Infirmary for such
patients as happen to fall sick of a Farmer or other Distempers and to do
therein as they should think fit This Comittee viewed the ground at the East
End of this Hospital contiguous to the Washhouse and think that to be a proper
place for that purpose and they likewise approve of the Plan laid before the

be Erected theretocontinuecontain two Apportments one for Men and the
other for Women extending from North to south 75 fost 4 Inches from out
to out and from East to West 17 foot each of which Appartments will hold
six Beds and the same by a moderate Computation will amount to about
£400. And this Comittee are of Opinion that the duty of this Infirmary
may be performed by the Maid Servants with only the addition of one Must
Servant to these already in the house All which is nevertheless submitted to the
Judgment of the Court And it is ordered that this Opinion with the plan
be laid before the next CourtThis Court having duly weighed and
considered of the said Report doth order that it be referred to the Monthly
Committee of Bethlem Hospital to receive proposals and report to the Court
