Upon reading a Report from the Comittee of this House bearing date the
2d. day of December instant under the hands of Edward Holloway< no role > Esqr . Trear
Dr . Richard Rawlinson< no role > , John Lock< no role > Esqr . Mr. Thomas Morris< no role > & mr. Deputy
Smith in the words and figures following ViztWilliam Howard< no role > of
St. Martins Lane Charing Cross Coach harness maker attended this Comittee
and proposed to take the House in St. Martins Lane late in the Occupation
of Thomas Frye< no role > in the Condition it is now in for four years from
Christmass next at the yearly Rent of Twenty Eight pounds payable
quarterly and to pay all Taxes Except the Land taxThis Comittee
are of Opinion to accept the said ProposalsAll Which nevertheless is
submitted to the Judgment of the courtAnd it is Ordered that
this Opinion be reported to the next CourtThis Court having
duly weighed and considered of the said Report doth confirm the same.

Upon reading a Report from the Comittee of this House bearing date the 2d.

Smith in the words and figures following Vizt.In Pursuance of on
Order of Court of the 19th. of November last to consider of the Fees taken
on the Discharge of a PrisonerThis Comittee find that the Fees usually
taken on the discharge of a Prisoner is one Shilling and Six pence divided
amongst Nine and that one Ninth part has for above Twenty years
past amounted in an Average to about Forty shillings a yearAnd
that the Portersman Six pence on the Discharge of a ManThis Comittee
are of Opinion that no Fees ought to be taken on the discharge of any
Prisoner but that a recompence be made for the same to the several
Officers as follows Vizt.

The Porter, Matron Steward & Clerk each £28,,
Inall P Ann 24,,

All Which nevertheless is submitted to the Judgment of the Court
And it is Ordered that this Opinion be reported to the next Court
This Court having duly weighed and considered of the said Report
agree with the Comittee that no Fees be taken and that are compence be
made for the same to the several officers and as to that the Court will
consider & in order thereto It is Ordered That the Steward and Porter
do lay before the Court an Account of the Number of Prisoners Comitted
and discharged from Christmas next to Ladyday next.
