as the Treasurer shall direct and that the Porter do take care of him
in the mean time.

Ordered That it be referred to the Committee of this House to consider
of the Fees taken upon the discharge of a Prisoner And to make their
Report thereon to the Court.

Old Bethlemthe old houses
there to be kept from falling
down

Mr. Treasurer acquainted this Court that several Inhabitants in Old
Bethlem had applyed to him to give some directions about the Houses
belonging to Bethlem Hospital in the middle of old Bethlem which are in
so ruinous a Condition that they are fearfull of the Tiles falling upon
their head and are a recepticle for loose disorderly persons who may fire the
same Upon which he had Ordered Mr. Cordwell the Carpenter & Mr.Smith
the Bricklayer to make an Estimate of what was necessary to be done to
prevent the said Houses from falling and for keeping out the loose persons
who shelter themselves there and that Mr Cordwell and Mr. Smith had made
their Report which was read as follows Vizt.They find it necessary for
securing the premisses from being carried away that the passage next the
meeting house be stopt, also the other and next old Bethlem fronting the Kings
Arms Alehouse, likewise a passage adjoining to Mr. Fords in the Street and one
other passage four Houses form the Suttey and that the Ground Story of the
four. Houses Eastward in front be inclosed. The Tiles & Tops of the Chimneys in
front that are loose to take down of the Trent houses which when done will Secure the
premes till disposed and will amount to Six poundsIt is Ordered that the
same be done accordingly.
