Thomas Dickson, alias Dickinson proceedingsdefend , of the Parish of Stepney , was Indicted for Felony and Burglary, in breaking open the Dwelling House of Joseph Jury proceedingsvictim , Esq ; between the Hours of 1 and 2 in the Night, on the 28th Day of March last, and taking from thence, 1 Silver Spoon, 3 Dozen of Pewter Plates, 3 Brass Candlesticks, 66 Pewter Dishes, 6 China Cups, 20 ll. Weight of Cheshire Cheese, a Breast of Mutton, a Laced Night Cap, a pair of Shoes, a Holland Neckcloath, a Flower Bagg, with other things, the Goods of Joseph Jury. A Silver Spoon, a Silver Coffee-Pot, 3 Coats, 2 pair of Breeches, 2 Perukes, 2 Hats, 2 Holland Frocks, &c. the Goods of Nathaniel Hodges proceedingsvictim . 4 Holland Handkerchiefs, a Holland Smock, a pair of Worsted Stockings, the Goods of Judith Dickinson proceedingsvictim . A Suit of Muslin Headcloaths, the Goods of Mary Howel proceedingsvictim . The Evidence Deposed, that the Prosecutor's House was fast at one a Clock that Morning the Fact was commited, and when the Family arose about 6 a Clock, they found a Pantry Window that leads to the Kitchen, broken open, and an Iron Bar bent so that a Man might get in, and the Goods mention'd in the Indictment taken away. The Evidence further Deposed, that upon Enquiry, divers of the Goods, and particularly a pair of Shoes of the Prosecutor's, a Serge Frock, and a Neckcloath of Mr. Hodges, and a Suit of Headcloaths of Mary Howel were found upon the Prisoner. The Prisoner could say little in his Defence, and being an old Offender, the Jury found him guilty of the Indictment.
