on the 2d of July
last. Stafford
pleaded guilty
to it upon her Arraignment and the other put her self upon her Tryal. It appeared that they were suspected to be Shop-lifters; they followed them up the Stairs into the Exchange
, where the Prisoners cheapned some Ribbon, and took their advantage and stole the Ribbon, and being searcht, they did find a piece of Black Ribbon tied behind her head: The Prisoner Castle said that she was very poor, and did work at winding of Silk for her livelihood, and did know nothing of the matter; it did not avail her, neither could she call any to her Reputation; The Jury found her
guilty to the value of Ten pence
