Examination TextThe Examination of Elizabeth Baker Singlewoman taken on Oath this third this day of December 1725. Who on her Oath saith that she is about six & twenty Years of Age And that she never was Married that she was bound an apprentice to one Mrs ffisher a Gloveress who then Lodged against Bedford Bury in Shandois Street in this Parish for Eight Years & Served her said Mistress there the whole term which expired about four or five Years agoe, Since which she never was a yearly hired Servant or Housekeeper she further on her Oath saith that she is with Child & that one Christopher Baker a Groom hired fist Carnalll knowledge of her body at her lodging two pair of Stairs forwards at the Houseof one Mrs Benbow in on the Bed there and diverse times since Saith that he the said Christ Baker & no Man else is the true & onlyffather of the Child or Children she now goeth with and is pregnant of.
