Examination TextEleanor Smith aged about 40 Years Lodging at one Mr ffreezes in Banbury Court Long Acre Saith , she is the Wife of Martin Smith , who hath been from her , near three Years and clearly now is or how to find him out knoweth not, That she was Married to him at the Parish Church of St Peter in Cornhill London about three years agoe, Saith he never was bred to any Trade, that he never was a yearly hired Servant as she knoweth or ever heard, Saith he never kept house before he married her as she knoweth. That he was Born in Raseham in Beverly Yorkshire as she heard him say, saith before & when she Married him she kept house Phenix Alley in this Parish & about a Year afterwards, paid £20 Pr Ann Rent, and all parochial Taxes left the same upwards of Year agoe & never kept house since. Hath three Children by her fformer Husband Richard Morris Vizt John Morris aged about ten Years Martha aged near ( Years & Thomas aged upwards of five Years; Safe her said late Husband kept the said House about 3 Years & died therein
