Examination TextJohn Stent aged 33 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed from St Luke Middlesex saith that he is a Painter by trade and bound the same of his Father who lived in and rented a house in Earls Court in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of 14 years at the 26 pounds per ann., quitted the same about 12 years ago, and then removed into Mercer Street in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields and there kept house, and this Examinant saith he never kept house rented 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes or was a yearly hired servant since, that he was married to Margaret his present wife at St Leonard Shoreditch nine years ago and hath two children by her now living to wit John aged eight years, now with his wife's brother at Loiston, and William aged two years now with this Examinant. Taken the 22nd Day of June 1747.
