Examination TextAdam Starkey aged 45 years destitute of lodging upon his oath saith that he is a Shoemaker by trade and was bound an apprentice by indenture for five years to Richard Cannar a Shoemaker in Castle Court near Long Acre in St Martin's Lane in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields and there served all his time out which expired about 20 years ago, that he never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes or was a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since, that he was married to his present wife Elizabeth at the ffleet 22 years ago by whom he has no children living. Sworn the 30th Day of December 1749 before James Fraser.
