Examination Text | Eleanor Pearce aged 26 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed from the Parish of St. Paul Covent Garden upon her oath saith that she never was married, that she was a yearly hired servant to Mrs Houlton in that part of James Street in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid for the space of two years at the yearly wages of 5 pounds diet and lodging, quitted the same about three months ago and hath not kept house rented 10 pounds by the year or paid any parish taxes since. Taken in the workhouse the ninth day of December 1749. |
