Examination TextElizabeth Thorpe aged 34 years and upwards lodging at Mr Aaronhouse's in Dawson's Alley in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon her oath saith that she never was married bound an apprentice kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes or was a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together, that she was born at Mr Bright's in Little St Martin's Lane in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid, and that her father Hugh Thorpe (who has been dead nine months) was a Carpenter by trade and lived in and rented a house near Banbury Court in Long Acre in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of 10 years and upwards at the yearly rent of 20 pounds a year besides taxes, quitted the same about 15 years ago and hath never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year or paid any parish taxes since. Sworn the third Day of November 1749 before James Fraser.
