Examination Text | John Gale aged 54 years destitute of lodging upon his oath saith that he is a Taylor by trade and served seven his apprenticeship to Daniel Grinden in a Taylor in Durham Yard the back part of the New Exchange in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields and afterwards kept a house the back part of the Elephant and Castle in Drury Lane in the said Parish for the space of nine years at the yearly rent of 10 pounds and 12 shillings, quitted the same about 10 years ago and never kept house rented 10 pounds by the year nor paid any parish taxes since. Sworn the 25th day of July 1754 before Benjamin Cox. |
