Examination TextWilliam Elsegood aged 30 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed from the Parish of Great Dunmow in the County of Essex, that he never was bound an apprentice kept house rented 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor hath been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together, that his Father William Elsegood was a Bricklayer lived in and rented an house in a Brewhouse Court in Bedfordbury in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of eight years at the yearly rent of 14 pounds besides taxes, quitted the same about 18 years ago, that he never rented 10 pounds by the year afterwards, that this Examinant was married to his present wife Sarah at Great Dunmow aforesaid about a year ago. Sworn the 29th day of March 1755 before Benjamin Cox.
