Examination TextElizabeth Wagstaff aged 24 years lodging at Mrs Grimes in Moors Yard in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon her oath saith that she is the wife of Moses Wagstaff (now in St. George's Hospital at Hyde Park Corner) to whom she was married at ffleet five years ago, that he is a Glover by trade and was bound an apprentice by an indenture for seven years to Alexander Payan a Glover in Green Street in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields and there served three years, and then his said Master removed into St Martin's Lane in Mays Buildings in the Parish aforesaid and this Examinant's husband along with him and there served the remainder of his said apprenticeship which expired about seven years ago, that he never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor hath been a yearly hired servant since the expiration of his said apprenticeship, that she hath one child living by her said husband to wit James aged two years and upwards now with this Examinant. Sworn the sixth Day of October 1756 before John Goodchild.
