Examination TextHenrietta Peplow aged 47 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed from the Parish of St Giles in the Fields in the County of Middlesex upon her oath saith that she is the widow of John Peplow (who died about 18 years ago) to whom she was married at the Fleet about 30 years ago, that he was an Actor at the Playhouse, that he lived in and rented an house near Crown Court in Russell Street in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid for the space of 10 years at the yearly rent of 16 pounds besides taxes, quitted the same about 17 weeks before he died, that he never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year nor paid any parish taxes afterwards, nor hath she this Examinant nor been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since the death of her said husband. Sworn the 28th day of September 1758 before Benjamin Cox.
