Examination TextMary Manners aged 38 years and upwards in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon her oath saith that she is the wife of James Manners (gone to sea) to whom she was married at May Fair Chapel 16 years ago, that her said husband is a Taylor by trade and was bound an apprentice by an indenture for seven years to William Ogilvie (this Examinants Father) near James Street in Long Acre in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid and there served all his said time out which expired about five months before his intermarriage with this Examinant, that he never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor hath been a yearly hired servant since. Sworn the 28th day of February 1758 before Thomas Kynaston.
