| Examination Text | The Examination of Sarah Parker lodging at Mr Bennell near Harvey Yard in Tottenham Court Road Taken this Ternty third Day of November in the year 1785. This Examinant on her Oath saith that she is 24 years of Age that she never was Married nor bound an Apprentice , that she was a yearly hired Servant to John Hosley a Brandie Merchant near St Martins Court Castle Street in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of three years all under One hiring at the yearly wages of Six pounds for the fast year and Seven pounds for each of the two last years diet and Lodging quitted the same near three years ago , that she hath not Kept House rented a tenement of ten Pounds by the year paid any Parish taxes nor have been a yearly hired servant in any one place for twelve Months together since. And this Examinant on her Voluntary Oath further saith that she is now big with Child or Children which is or are Likely to be born a Bastard or Bastards and to become Chargeable to the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields , that John moffatt a Boot Maker who Lodges at No 72 in Drury Lane hired Carnal Knowledge of her body some time in the beginning or the Month of May last in the Dining-room at the house oath Mr Saunders in Buckingham Street and Several times afterwards tames afterwards in the same Room at which timeor One of which times he the said John Moffatt did beget her with Child or Children she now Gaullist with and is Pregnant of. And that he the said John Moffatt is the true and only Father thereof And no Man else. Sworn the Day & year first above written Before William Hyde Sarah Parker |
