Examination TextThe Information of William Passley one of the Beadlesof the Parish of St Martin in the Fields Taken this 18th Day of November in the year 1785. This Informant , on his Oath saith that he Did this day Apprehend Elizabeth Joints and her Three Science any Parish aforesaid Vizt. wandering abroad and begging Contrary to the Statute in that case made and and proved. Sworn the Day & year first above written Before William Hyde William Pasley Elizabeth Jones aged 56 years in the Workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields on her Oath saith that she is the Widow of William Jones who Died about Seventeen years ago to whom she was Married in the Parish Church of St James Piccadilly the eight Day of February 1761 , that her said Husband was a Broker and Lived in and rented a House in James Street in the Haymarket in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid for the space of about Six Years at the Yearly Rent of Sixteen Paris peseta taxes quitted the same about Eight Months of aforesaid Husbands Day , that he her said Husband never Kept House rented a tenement of ten pounds by the year , nor paid any Parish Taxes afterwards , nor hath she this Deponent since her said Husbands Day of nor hath been a yearly hired Seven in any One place for twelve Months together since the Death of the said Husband.
