Examination TextElizabeth Poole aged 62 years lodging at Edwards's a Chandler near Rose Street in Long Acre in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon her oath said that she is the widow of Thomas Poole (who died nine years ago) to whom she was married at St Martin's Church in the Parish about 16 years ago, that he was a Taylor by trade, that he was born and served his apprenticeship in the County of Lancaster but the particular part this Examinant cannot tell, that he never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor was a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together to this Examinant's knowledge, that before her intermarriage to the said Thomas Poole she was the widow of Samuel Hall who died almost 20 years ago to whom she was married at St Martin's Church aforesaid about 40 years ago, that he was a Taylor by trade and lived in and rented an house in Off Alley in the Parish aforesaid for the space of 15 years at the yearly rent of 15 pounds before to besides taxes and there died, that she this Examinant hath not kept house rented 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor been a yearly hired servant since her said husband's death. Sworn the 13th Day of December 1758 before Benjamin Cox.
