Examination Text | Elizabeth Knight aged 31 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon her oath saith that she never was married bound an apprentice kept house rented 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor was a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together, that her father John Knight lived in and rented an house known by the sign of the Thistle and Crown in Russell Court in the Parish aforesaid but how long he kept the same what rent he paid or when quitted it she this Examinant cannot tell, that he never did any act afterwards to gain a subsequent settlement to this Examinant's knowledge. Taken in the workhouse the 6th February 1764. |
