Examination TextAnn Marston aged 30 years and upwards in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed from the parish of Chatham in the County of Kent upon her oath saith that she is the widow of Daniel Marston (who died about nine weeks ago) to whom she was married in the Parish Church of Christ Church Spital Fields the first Day of October which is in the year 1752, that she this Examinant hath been informed by her said husband that he her said husband served seven years apprenticeship to his Uncle Thomas Marston a Carpenter near the workhouse in St Martin's Lane in the Parish of St Martin the Fields, that her said husband never kept house or tenement of 10 pounds by the year pay parish taxes nor was a yearly hired servant after the expiration of his said apprenticeship, that she hath three children living by her said husband to wit Elizabeth aged nine years and upwards, Ann aged seven years and upwards, and Sarah aged five years all now with this Examinant, and also that she this Examinant is now pregnant. Sworn the fourth Day of July 1763 before Thomas Kynaston.
