Examination Text | Martha Sturmont aged 26 years and upwards in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon her oath saith that she never was married bound an apprentice kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes or was a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together, that her Father William Sturmont was a Tyre Smith and lived in and rented an house in the Hedge Lane in the said Parish for the space of 20 years at the yearly rent of 20 pounds besides taxes, that he quitted the same many years ago and never did any act to gain a subsequent settlement. Taken in the workhouse the 11th Day of January 1762. |
