Examination TextMary Booth aged 32 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon her oath saith that she is the wife of John Booth (a soldier) to whom she was married at May Fair Chapel 15 years ago, that he never was bound apprentice kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor hath been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together, that his father lived in and rented an house in Dukes Court in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid the space of several years at the yearly rent of 10 pounds and upwards besides taxes, and there died about seven years ago, that she hath three children living by the said husband to wit Mary aged 11 years and upwards, Ann aged six years and upwards, both with this Examinant's mother at Carson in Oxfordshire, and Henry aged 14 days now with this Examinant. Taken in the workhouse the 17th Day of March 1760.
