Examination TextMargaret Gibbons aged about 44 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon her oath saith that she never was married, that she was a yearly hired servant to Mr Robinson a Taylor in New Round Court in the Parish aforesaid for the space of three years at the yearly wages of 4 pounds diet and lodging, quitted the same March 1763, that she never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor hath been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since, And this Examinant on her oath further saith that she was on the first Day of January which was in the year 1761 delivered at the house of Mr Robinson's in New Round Court in the Parish aforesaid of a female bastard child (since christened Sarah) yet living and now with this Examinant, and that John Russel (who is dead) did beget on her body the said female bastard child, and that he the said John Russel is the true and only father thereof and no man else. Sworn the sixth Day of August 1767 before Thomas Kynaston.
