Examination TextRobert Smith aged about 29 years passed from the Parish of St. George Hanover Square within the liberty of Westminster to the Parish of St Martin in the Fields in the said liberty upon his oath saith that he never was married, that he was bound an apprentice by an indenture for seven years to Mr Thomas a Taylor in Buckingham Street York Buildings in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid and there served his said Master about five years and then was by Mr Justice Fielding discharged his said Master's service, which is about eight years ago, that he never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since. Sworn the 25th day of August 1768 before Peter Planck.
