Examination TextBenjamin Billett aged 71 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed from the Parish of St Leonard in Shoreditch in the County of Middlesex upon his oath saith that he was bound an apprentice by an indenture for seven years to Mr William Andrews a Peruke Maker in Hungerford Market in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields and there served his said Master about six years, and then his said Master died, that he (this Examinant) was not assigned to any person, kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor been a yearly hired servant in any one place fro 12 months together since the death of his said Master. Taken in the workhouse of 22nd Day of April 1771.
