| Examination Text | Catherine Bridges aged 33 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields on her oath saith that she is the wife of Henry Bridges (gone from her) to whom she was married at the Parish Church of St Martin in the Fields the 18th Day of July in year 1776, that her said husband lived in and rented an house in that part of Chandos Street which is in the Parish aforesaid for the space of five years at the yearly rent of 27 pounds besides taxes, quitted the same two years ago, that her said husband hath not kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year nor paid any parish taxes since, that she hath two children by her said husband to wit Henry aged three years and and Catherine aged near 12 months now with her. Sworn the 10th day of February 1784 before John Collick. |
