Examination TextAbigail Cook aged about 70 years lodging in Thrift Street upon her oath saith that she is the widow of Christopher Cook who died in the year 1762 to whom she was married at the Parish Church of St Martin in the Fields about 37 years ago, that her said husband lived in and rented an house in that part of Chandos Street which is in the Parish aforesaid the space of several years at the yearly rent of 26 pounds besides taxes, that she this Examinant lived in and rented the said house in Chandos Street after the death of her said husband for the space of 16 years at the yearly rent of 26 pounds besides taxes, quitted the same about six years ago, that she hath not kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor hath been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since. Sworn the 24th Day of July 1783 before William Hyde.
