| Examination Text | Jane Hawbury aged about 50 years now at Mrs Channon's near Peters Court in St Martin's Lane in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon her oath saith that she is the widow of Samuel Hawbury (who died about 20 years ago), that since the death of her said husband she (having no child living) was a yearly hired servant to Mr Channon aforesaid for the space of 15 months all under one hiring at the yearly wages of 6 pounds diet and lodging, quitted the same about three years ago, that she never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since. Sworn the seventh Day of July 1780 before Jacob Fletcher. |
