Examination TextJane Marchant aged 45 years last March lodging in Hedge Lane in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon her oath saith that she never was married nor bound an apprentice, that she was a yearly hired servant to Messrs Dandy and Hern, Haberdashers, near Castle Court in the Strand in the Parish aforesaid for the space of one year and 10 months all under one hiring at the yearly wages of 6 pounds diet and lodging, quitted the same about 19 years ago, that she hath not kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since. Sworn the seventh Day of January 1780 before William Hyde.
