Examination TextPhillis Hansteen aged about 34 years removed by an order of two Justices from the Parish of St Clement Danes to the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon her oath saith that she is the widow of Hans Hansteen (who died about 12 years ago), that since the death of her said husband (having no child living) she was a yearly hired servant to Mr William Rayner and Excise Officer in Orange Street in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of one year and an half at the yearly wages of 5 pounds diet and lodging, quitted the same about four years ago, that she hath not rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since. Sworn the 18th Day of August 1779 before Sampson Wright.
