Examination TextThe Examination of Jane Bushell lodging at Mr Carr's a Coat shed [sic] in Hedge Lane in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields taken this 15th Day of September in the year 1778. This Examinant on her oath saith she is about 40 years of age, that she is the widow of Job Bushell (who died the 31st of August last in Chelsea hospital) to whom she was married at the Parish Church of St. John in the city of Waterford in the Kingdom of Ireland the 22nd Day of September in the year 1762, that her said husband was born near the Church in St Martin's Lane in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields as he her said husband hath told her, that her said husband never was bound an apprentice kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor was a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together to this Examinant's knowledge, that her husband's father Job Bushell was a soldier, that she never heard the place of his settlement, that she hath two children by her said husband to wit John aged eight years the 13th of March next and Margaret born the third Day of January in the year 1774 both now with this Examinant.
