Examination TextMary Martin aged 64 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed from the Parish of St Giles in the Fields upon her oath saith that she is the widow of John Martin (who died 10 years ago) to whom she was married at the Parish Church of St Martin in the Fields about 27 years ago, that her said husband lived in and rented an house in Bennet's Court in the Strand in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of nine years at the yearly rent of 6 pounds and paid the Kings Tax for the same, and that her said husband died in the occupation of the said house, that she this Examinant continued in and rented the aforesaid house for the space of nine months after the death her said husband, that she hath not kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since she quitted the aforesaid house.
