Examination TextJames Jenkins aged 47 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed from the Parish of St. James Clerkenwell in the County of Middlesex upon his oath saith that he was (by the officers of the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid) bound an apprentice by an indenture for seven years to William Royer a Laperdary [sic] in Middlesex Court in Drury Lane in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields and there served his said Master all the said term out which expired about 26 years ago, that he hath not kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor was a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since, that he was married to his present wife Diana at the ffleet about 25 years ago. Sworn the [blank] Day of December 1776 before [blank].
