Examination TextBernard Shields aged 64 years Lodging at No.13 in Phoenix Alley in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields on his Oath saith that he is an Taylor by Trade and lived and rented an House in New Bedford Court in the Parish aforesaid for the space of one year and an half at the yearly Rent of Fourteen Pounds besides taxes quitted the same Two years and upwards [sic], That he hath not kept house rented a tenement of ten pounds by the year nor paid any Parish taxes since, That he was Married to his Present Wife Bridget at the Parish Church of st Dunstan at stepney in the County of Middlesex Sixteen years ago by whom he hath one child to wit Sarah aged eleven years and upwards now with him. Sworn the 24th Day of Novr. 1784.
