Examination TextMary Young aged about 24 years in the Workhouse of and in the parish of St Martin in the Fields Upon her Oath saith That she never was Married nor bound an apprentice, That she was a yearly hired servant to Mr. [Morgan] a Victualler at the Sign of the Hamer near Charing Cross in the parish aforesaid for the space of fourteen months all under one hiring at the yearly wages of six pounds diet & lodging quitted the same about six months ago, That she never kept house rented a tenement of ten pounds by the year nor paid any parish taxes since. Sworn the 25th Day of September 1782 Before William Hyde. NB The above Mary Young was delivered in Bridewell at Tothill Fields of a Male Bastard Child baptized Joseph Octr. 4/86. She was brought to the House a Casualty with the Child April 8/88 & Died April 10/88 and could take no Exmn. respecting the Father.
