Examination TextEsther Dickson at 27 years in the Workhouse Saith she is the wife of John Dickson gone from her about 2 Months agoe to whom she was married at St Martins Tabernacle abt 9 years agoe That he is by Trade a Taylor and served his Time in Edinburgh in Scotland but to whom there cannot tell that he kept House in black Lyon Yard in Bedford Bury about 2 years paid 8£ Pr Ann Rent but never paid any Taxes that he never was a yearly hired Servt never rented 10£ Pr Ann never kept House save as aforesaid that she was born in Cheshire and that she was a yearly hired servant to her Uncle one Thomas Tickle then living at the Sign of the Highlander in Shandois Street in this parish whom she served there several years had 3£ Pr Ann Wages Diet and Lodging and was Married from that service
