Examination TextMargaret Spatiet aged about 18 years now in the Workhouse lately a Servant at one Mrs Roberts at the Coachmakers Arms in Long Acre Saith she was never married that she was born in Chicester in Sussex and that her ffather kept house about two years near the playhouse Drury Lane in the parish of St Martin in the fields about 5 or 6 years agoe but what rent he paid cant say, that he never kept house of rented 10£ Pr Ann Since and that she never lived a year together in any one Service Saith she is now great Child and that one John Drinkwater now or lately an Apprentice to an Hour Glassmaker at the Sign of the Hour Glass in Houndsditch had Carnall knowledge of her Body at one Mr Knights who kept an Alehouse in Whalebone Court near Throgmorton Street (where she was a Servant) about the Month of November last & Sverall times before & after at her said Masters house And that he the said John Drinkwater is the true and only ffather thereof and no man else
