Examination TextRebecca Hill aged 53 years and upwards in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed from the Parish of St Bartholomew the Great London upon her oath saith that she is the widow of Frederick Hill (who died about 15 years ago) to whom she was married at the Church of in Crutched Fryers [sic] London near 30 years ago, that her said husband was a Ccaster by trade and lived in and rented a house the corner of Hunts Court in St Martin's Lane in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid (then known by the sign of the Queens Head) for the space of two years at the yearly rent of 30 pounds besides taxes, quitted the same about 20 years ago, that her said husband never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year nor paid any parish taxes afterwards, nor hath she this Examinant nor been a yearly hired servant since the death of her said husband. Sworn the 6th February 1766 before Peter Planck.
