Examination TextAnne Aldridge aged 58 years lodging at one Mrs Bonny's next the corner of Cross Lane in Castle Street in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields where she hath lodged a year saith that she is the widow of William Aldridge (who died about 18 years ago) to whom she was married at St Michael's Church in St Albans 28 years ago but hath no child living by him within these five years last, that he never was bound an apprentice, that he was a yearly hired servant before marriage to Mr Stockley the King's Carver near the corner of Little St Martin's Lane in Castle Street aforesaid and said there a full year, that she doth not remember what wages her said husband had but that he lodged and boarded with his said Master all the time, that he married whilst in that service and that he nor this Examinant never kept house rented 10 pounds by the year or paid any parish taxes, nor hath she been a yearly hired servant since the death her said husband or married to any other Person. Sworn the first Day of November 1738 before me William Miller.
