Examination Text | Luke Bosswell aged 20 years removed from St Luke's Middlesex saith he was bound an apprentice by the officers of this Parish by indenture until he should attain the age of 24 years to one John Grant, a Weaver in New Nicholls Street beyond Shoreditch whom he there served one year and a half and then his father and mother took him away and he stayed with them about three years, and then he signed an indenture obliging him to serve the space of seven years of one Mrs Cheeseman, a Staymaker within two doors of the Castle Tavern in Drury Lane in this Parish whom he there served 21 weeks and then he ran away which is one year and three quarters ago, and that he never lived with his mistress afterwards nor ever was turned over to any other Person, that he was married to Mary his wife at the Hand and Pen in the Fleet a year ago. Sworn 10th day of October 1738 before me James Fraser. |
