Examination TextMary Preston aged about 30 years lodging last in Hartshorne Lane where she has lodged near a week and came away a fortnight ago saith she never was married, that she was bound an apprentice by indenture for five years to one Mary Bignall, a Plainwork Woman who lived at one Mrs Bennets next Mr Lemmons in Harvey Court in the Strand where she served her three years, and then her mistress married one Mr Unwin an Upholsterer in Bedford Court, that her mistress then went to live with her said husband in Bedford Court, that she then with her Mrs consent [sic] while she lived in Harvey Court went to live with her mother Mary Preston a Washerwoman by Hatton Wall by Hatton Garden where she continued ever since and that she never was turned over to her mother or any other Person nor ever kept house rented 10 pounds by the year or was a yearly hired servant. Sworn the fourth Day of October 1738 before me Val Hilder.
