Examination TextMary Eccles aged upwards of 30 years now the workhouse saith that she is wife of Frederick Eccles (who went away and left her on the 10th day of June last), and he was born in Ireland and never kept a house rented 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes was a yearly hired servant or bound an apprentice in England, that she was married him at the Hand and Pen at the Fleet on the 13th Day of August was 12 months, that she hath no child by him now living and that before she married she was a yearly hired servant for five years together to one Mrs Belgrove in Martlett Court in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields, had 5 pounds by the year wages and diet and lodging and married from that service.
