Examination Text | George Ryland aged 46 years in the workhouse saith he is by trade a Shoemaker and was bound an apprentice by indenture for seven years to his Uncle Thomas Ryland in Guys Court in Vinegar Yard in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields whom he there served about three years, that his uncle then removed into Eagle Court next the steps there in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields and he this Examinant with him and there served the remainder of his time and never kept any house rented 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes or was a yearly hired servant since the expiration thereof, that he was married to Elizabeth his wife at the Hand and Pen in the Fleet 10 or 11 years ago and has no child by her.
