Examination Text | Mary Burton aged 70 years in the workhouse saith she is the widow of William Burton (who died 10 years ago) to whom she was married at Marybone [sic] Church almost 50 years ago, that he was a Livery Lace Weaver and kept house in Cooks Alley in St Martin's Lane several years and quitted that house about five or six years before he died and never afterwards kept any shop house or apartment of the yearly rent of 10 pounds or upwards or paid any parish taxes, that she hath five children who are all married and provided for, and that she this Examinant never kept a house rented 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes or was a yearly hired servant since his death.
