Examination TextThe Examination of Henrietta Lloyd singlewoman taken upon oath this 23rd Day of February 1741. Who upon her voluntary oath saith she is about 20 years of age, that she never was married, that she was on Sunday the 25th day of January last psat delivered of a female bastard child (since christened Hannah) in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields within the liberty of Westminster in the County of Middlesex and which said female bastard child was chargeable onto the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields from the time of the birth thereof unto the second Day of this instant February on which the said female bastard child died, and this Examinant further saith that one Andrew Simson, who is [Clinker?] to Mrs Yeovill in Church Lane the in the Parish St Martin in the Fields aforesaid had carnal knowledge of her body on a bed in the room behind the shop Mrs Yeovill's house sometime in or about the month of May last past and several times since at the same place (she being a servant there) at which or one of which times he begot on her body the said female bastard child, and that he the said Andrew Simpson is the true and only father thereof and no man else. Sworn the day and year aforesaid before me James Fraser.
