Examination TextElizabeth Groome aged about 37 Years Lodging at one Mrs Davis's in Wells's Yard agst: St: Giles's pound in the Parish of St: Giles's from whence she was Passed Saith that she is the Wife of John Groome who now liveth with another woman at Mr Green's, the Sign of the Windsor Castle against the Coal Yard Gate in Holborn, That she was Married to him at the Chappel of St: James's about sixteen Years agoe, Saith he is by Trade a Brazier That he was bound an Apprentice by Indenture for Seven Years to one Mr Parker in little Drury Lane in the Parish of St: Mary le Strand As she hath heard him say and that he served his said Master there about three Years And that then his Master Turned him Over to one Mr Sherring in King Street Westmr: where he Served him the remainder of the sd Term, Since which he kept house in Hewitts Court in the Strand about 12 Years, paid £12 by the Year Rent and to the poor & left that House about three or four Years agoe and never kept house since as she knoweth or ever heard, or Rented ten pounds by the Year or paid any Parish Taxes to any Parish since as she knoweth or ever heard hath no Children living.
