Examination TextMary Hewitt aged upwards of Twenty six Years at the Workhouse, Saith she is the Wife of John Hewitt who now worketh for Mr fforbes in Bow Street Covent Garden That she was Married to him at St: Giles's Church Seven Years last July, That he is by Trade a Barber and Perukemaker, Was bound an Apprentice by Indre for Seven Years (having seen the Indre) to one Mr Wilkins who then lived the upper end of Hedge Lane in this Parish and Served his said Master there the fulll Term of Seven Years as she hath heard him say which expired about Eleven Years agoe Since which he was never a Yearly hired Servant as she knoweth, That he never kept house, Saith they Rented one Side of a Shop of Mr the corner of Long Acre in St Martin's Lane a Quarter of a Year, paid £6 by the Year Rented but no Taxes, Saith he never Rented any Shop of £10 by the year as she knoweth, hath one Child James aged ten Months.
